Description

Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

Typical Requirements: 

  1. Possession of a current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nursing License.
  2. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  3. Knowledge of principles/skills needed to provide nursing assessment, intervention, and treatment.
  4. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  5. Knowledge of medication indications for use and their effects on patients.
  6. Knowledge of patient education principles to assist patients in caring for themselves.
  7. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  8. Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
  9. Skill in using various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures.
  10. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in updating and maintaining patient records.
  11. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  12. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  13. Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Ability to problem-solve and make sound judgments.
  14. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  15. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  16. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions.
  17. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing assignments and work pace.
  18. Ability to utilize computer programs expected for patient care, access patient information from the internet, and type at least 30 wpm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience working in an ambulatory care setting.
  2. Proficient IV skills.
  3. Current CPR certification.

Pay Ranges

Base Hourly: $38 per hour
Annual: $78000 – $113000
