Description

Provides direct hands-on and clerical support to healthcare providers and nursing staff.  Typical duties include:

  • Sort incoming documents and distribute to teammates
  • Place phone calls to specialty for consult notes or schedule verification
  • Process patient forms and notes; obtain information releases as needed
  • Prepare nursing home and home health orders
  • Faxes documents to pharmacies, care facilities and outside providers
  • Reschedules patients if appointment is unexpectedly cancelled
  • Enter historical immunizations and outside information
  • Place phone calls to patients for health maintenance items
  • Assist with prior authorizations, including Rx Refill requests
  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients in exam rooms
  • Print out after visit summaries for exiting patients
  • Act as a medical chaperone

Typical Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly; ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
  • Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and handle frequent interruptions.

Pay Ranges

Base Hourly: $19 per hour
Annual: $40000 – $51000

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
