You also pre-authorize surgeries and procedures with medical insurance companies. You are the voice for the people.

To act as a member advocate within the provider office by ensuring procedures, benefits, and policies are administered correctly and timely. To pre-authorize surgeries and procedures with medical insurance companies.
Typical Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years experience in a medical facility.
- Basic understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
- Effective customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to details.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff members.
- Ability to use a computer. Proficient keyboarding skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience working with referrals and managed care products
- Thorough understanding of the referral process and HMO philosophy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding.

Pay Ranges
Base Hourly:
$19 per hour
Annual:
$38000 – $57000
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
