As a Hardware Technician, you assists the Information Systems department with fixing all of the clinic-wide computers/laptops/monitors/printers/faxes/scanners/etc. with hardware and software issues. You also provide backup for the department. This is a behind the scenes job, with no patient interaction but does have team and coworker interaction.
Description
Assists the Information Systems department with fixing all of the clinic-wide computers/laptops/monitors/printers/faxes/scanners/etc. With hardware and software issues. Provides backup for the department.
Typical Requirements:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware for end-users on and off-site.
- Assist with configuring and maintaining our network.
- Wireless network support.
- Provide helpdesk support for hardware/network problems.
- Maintain hardware and software inventories.
- Maintain LAN user information, security, configurations, and print requirements.
- Troubleshoot all currently used Windows operating system issues.
- Troubleshoot all currently used office version issues.
- Provide on-call/after-hours support.
- Ability to travel to other offices as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizes workload, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems and make reasonable and logical decisions.
- Two or more years of previous experience in technical support.
- One or more years of previous experience with the practice management computer system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 1-3 years hardware helpdesk.
- 2-3 years working with Windows and associated applications.
- Extensive knowledge of M/S Applications, including Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- Familiarity with network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with WAN/LAN environments.
- Able to install and troubleshoot workstations and laptops, including PC-based applications.
- Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Capable of routinely lifting up to 50 lbs.
