Description

An imaging scheduler answers phones, conducts outbound calls to patients with active imaging orders, conducts safety screenings and schedules appointments. An imaging scheduler needs to be confident in answering questions, yet comforting. Patients in need of imaging studies can range from expectant to mothers, to those awaiting a cancer diagnoses, to persons fearful of the instruments that will be used during their exam. You need to be able to calm nerves and guide patients toward having a successful studies performed for their doctor to review.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be detail-orientated. Effective organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, providers, and the public.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while keeping close attention to accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team participant, putting the patient, doctor, and technologist in the best interest of all decisions.
  • Ability to perform data entry in electronic health record, patient management system, laboratory information system, and radiology PACS.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1.  6 months of recent experience.
  2. Interpret orders and special radiographic studies with minimal supervision.
  3. Creativity and independent judgment to modify learned skills.

 

Pay Ranges

Base Hourly: $19 per hour
Annual: $39000 – $51000
