As a Hardware Technician, you assists the Information Systems department with fixing all of the clinic-wide computers/laptops/monitors/printers/faxes/scanners/etc. with hardware and software issues. You also provide backup for the department. This is a behind the scenes job, with no patient interaction but does have team and coworker interaction.

Description

Assists the Information Systems department with fixing all of the clinic-wide computers/laptops/monitors/printers/faxes/scanners/etc. With hardware and software issues. Provides backup for the department.

Typical Requirements: 

  1. Installing and configuring computer hardware for end-users on and off-site.
  2. Assist with configuring and maintaining our network.
  3. Wireless network support.
  4. Provide helpdesk support for hardware/network problems.
  5. Maintain hardware and software inventories.
  6. Maintain LAN user information, security, configurations, and print requirements.
  7. Troubleshoot all currently used Windows operating system issues.
  8. Troubleshoot all currently used office version issues.
  9. Provide on-call/after-hours support.
  10. Ability to travel to other offices as required.
  11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  12. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizes workload, and meet deadlines.
  13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  14. Ability to analyze information, solve problems and make reasonable and logical decisions.
  15. Two or more years of previous experience in technical support.
  16. One or more years of previous experience with the practice management computer system.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. BA/BS degree preferred.
  2. Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  3. 1-3 years hardware helpdesk.
  4. 2-3 years working with Windows and associated applications.
  5. Extensive knowledge of M/S Applications, including Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  6. Familiarity with network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
  7. Working knowledge and hands-on experience with WAN/LAN environments.
  8. Able to install and troubleshoot workstations and laptops, including PC-based applications.
  9. Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects.
  10. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  11. Self-starter, able to work independently without constant supervision.
  12. Capable of routinely lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay Ranges

Base Hourly: $20 per hour
Annual: $42000 – $62000

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Est. Experience Required: 2 years
